    About Me

My name is Andres Rodriguez, I am a graduating form Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering. I have always been fascinated with Electronics, I enjoy modifying electronics to make them do something other than what they were intended for. This website is dedicated to my Senior Project, for which I built a Bluetooth Controlled Persistence of Vision Display.

    Project Overview

Persistence of Vision Displays have for years intrigued hobbyists because they present many mechanical and electrical challenges for the designer. For my Senior Project I created a Bluetooth enabled POV Display and developed an android App that would allow the user to change the display directly from their android phone.

    Persistence of Vision

Persistence of vision is the phenomenon of the eye by which an afterimage is thought to persist for approximately one twenty-fifth of a second on the retina and it can be considered the basis of motion picture, because it explains why the black spaces that come between each "real" movie frame are not perceived.

This galloping horse is displayed at 12 drawings per second, and the it's on the edge of being objectionably jerky.  [Wikipedia]
