The idea behind this project was to simplify modern day variometers to provide a simple user interface for beginning Paragliders. By eliminating unnecessary features and reducing costs with a simplistic hardware design, the cost and complexity can be reduced.

The concept included a simple display with two buttons for the user interface. A concept can be seen below. The idea is to keep it small enough to fit politely on a wrist without overbearing the user. The screen must be easily visible in all types of light and provide numbers large enough to be seen easily by the wearer.

The final product took some modification from the concept but it is very compact and provides all the necessary features to make it a useful device. It has a large screen and a small form factor, giving the user a simple and elegant experience.
