Who is Jon Peterson?

I am an Electronics Engineering Technology student at Western Washington University with a minor in Mathematics. I will be graduating on June 11th, 2005. I am involved in many school activities and clubs, but the one I am most involved in is our local IEEE chapter. I am the current chapter chairman, elected by my fellow students. The other club that I have been active in is The INN University Ministries. I was a student leader for the 2003-2004 school year, responsible for leading a bible study and a prayer team.

My focus in school is to prepare myself for a career in Research and Development (R&D). I am putting extra effort in the areas of embedded systems as well as my Voice Over Internet Protocol research. I plan to go back to school to get my Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a possible focus in nanotechnology or microprocessor design. I have taken additional science and math courses to prepare me for the additional schooling. Before I go back to school, I would like to gain some real-world experience in industry. I am currently looking for a job to prepare me for a career in R&D. My resume is currently available in the documents section.

Other non-engineering interests include my fiance, Allison. The day after graduation, June 12th, I will be getting married. You can read our engagement story and wedding plans at http://www.JonAndAllison.com. Allison and I both enjoy rock climbing, although we are both amatures, we are getting much better! I enjoy weight lifting, reading books (especially by C.S. Lewis), cooking, The Simpsons, watching movies, programming in C, website development, and learning whatever I can.
