Skills

 

Schematic Software: Experienced in the use of Altium and Eagle CAD to creat/modify/edit schematics.

PCB Design and Layout: Extensive experience using Eagle CAD for both complex and simple single layer boards. I have designed and milled numerous PCBs using Eagle CAD, Circuit Cam, Board Master and a ProtoMat circuit board mill.

Circuit Design and Testing: Simple and complex analog and digital circuits (breadboarding, protoboarding, using o’scopes, function generators, multimeters, and other misc. electronic lab equipment).

Embedded programming: Assembly and C. (Experience using Cypress Psoc, Freescale, and Arduino Microcontrollers).

Technical Documentation: Writing ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), processing EARs,ETOs,EERs, etc.

Project Concept to Release: Have taken multiple projects from concept to design, testing, and final release.

Circuit Board Rework: Very extensive experience; 2+ years. Cutting/Re-routing traces, replacing components from small SMD packages to large thru-hole components. Working with complex schematics to update existing PCBs.

Advanced Soldering: Experience with soldering under a binocular microscope using surface mount 0805, 0603, TSSOP, SOP, through-hole, etc.

VHDL programming: (Xilinx Cool-runner CPLD).

CAD Modeling: Basic skills including use of the program SolidWorks.

High Mechanical Aptitude: Welding, Wood working, and other forms of fabrication.

Technical Writing: Completed a technical writing course at WWU. Created a brochure outlining resources available to EET students.

Strong Communication Skills: Working with co-workers and fellow engineers to accomplish projects and tasks.

Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Hummingbird Scientific: Engineering Technician from Jan. 2006 – Jan. 2008 (left for College after graduating from Olympia High School).

 

Other Experience

Consulted to trouble-shoot and repair a pellet stove control module.

Independent Study for Electronics sophomore year of high school. (Built a Tesla Coil, Jacob's Ladder, and other high voltage projects).

Was responsible for the electrical system of our high school's Electrathon Car during my sophomore year.
