EET Academic Program
As described in the program objectives, Western's EET program is a broad based electronics program. Strengths include analog electronics, communications, and embedded systems. The academic program is made up of the following modules:
Circuits Module
The circuits module provides the fundamental background in circuit analysis and design. The following courses make up the circuits module:
Electronics Module
The electronics module provides the fundamental background in linear and non-linear electronic analysis and design. It covers discrete devices (diodes, bipolar and FET transistors), integrated devices in applications such as amplifier design, power regulation and control, and instrumentation. The following courses make up the electronics module:

Digital Module
The digital module covers analysis and design of digital circuits. Hardware and VHDL design techniques are covered using MSI and CPLD devices. The following courses make up the digital module:
Embedded Systems Module
The embedded systems module includes both hardware and software design using microprocessors and microcontrollers. The required portion covers final product design using assembly, while the Embedded Systems course includes programming in C and using a real-time kernel. The following courses make up the embedded systems module:

Communications Module
The communications module analog and digital communication analysis and design from the circuit level to the system level. Included are many case studies of communication systems in use today. The following courses make up the communications module:
Industrial Module
The industrial module includes power and machines, control systems, and instrumentation. The following courses make up the industrial module:
Project and Career Module
The project and career module covers career education and planning along with the senior project. Students develop project requirements, present designs in written and oral reviews, and learn to work in a team. The following courses make up the Project and Career module:
Degrees
Western's Electronics Engineering Technology program offers an ABET accredited BSEET degree. The program also offers an Embedded Systems minor that is primarily offered for Computer Science majors.
